We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
FBI and DOJ Officials Broke The Law And Tried To Decide The Election - an Annotated Timeline(h/t reader)
Two points were missed there. First, the info that Carter Page was an FBI agent/spy, and, second, the fact that Loretta Lynch has no grandkids to discuss on the tarmac.
When the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles meet Sunday for the Super Bowl, they'll play inside the newly completed U.S. Bank Stadium near downtown Minneapolis. The $1.1 billion stadium was built with almost $500 million from state and local taxpayers, with the city paying an additional $7.5 million each year for operations and maintenance.
My short version: The Dems hired people to connect with Russian spies (barely arm's length) to find or invent dirt on Trump. The government then hired those go-betweens. Then the government spooks took that to spy on Trump and his associates. The government people hated Trump. Nice job, Russkies. Well-done. Mission accomplished, which was probably political chaos in the US.
The Russian spies also tried to engage the Trump people, but it didn't work for some reason. Anyway, those old KGB hands are far too cunning to let us play those games with them. Even our sick deep state seems to think it is easier to spy on Americans. Sure is.
Via Gateway, Assange tweeted, “James Comey, master of logic: FISA memo is nothing — and also the destroyer of worlds.”
Interesting to me that the feds say they took the dossier as a tip instead of as the campaign ploy that it was. Strange. Seems like the Dems were SWATting Trump. Call from a burner phone: "Hey there, FBI. I think I saw my neighbor at 22 Maple St. talking to a Russian last week."
Things are going on which lowly citizens are not supposed to know about. We just vote and pay taxes...and let our moral and intellectual superiors handle the important things while we just try to figure out how to handle our own lives.
I accept that many Dems and Lefties hate their country, hate the government, hate the voters. I feel sorry for them today. This country, and the nothing it did "for" my immigrant grandparents and my parents (except for the minor details of freedom and freedom of opportunity) is sometimes more greatly appreciated by immigrant families than by the elites, the privileged, and the blue-bloods (yes, my grandparents were poor European legal immigrant youth, Catholic peasants who loved the idea of America before their ships even arrived.)
My grandpa (who became a Massachusetts chicken farmer here, and then a chicken distributor) used to say in his Polish accent in his 90s "America, not for everybody. America, it takes guts." And I would think of plastic barrels of chicken guts, heads, and feathers ready for the cat-food factory..
Trump's speech was splendid. Could have been a bit better had I written it, but a darn good job. Patriotic. Positive. Spirited.
The 2.4 million jobs, the 200,000 manufacturing jobs, the $8 trillion in stock market gains, the new bonuses and investments weren’t ordered by the government. They’re the bonuses of freedom. When the government cuts taxes, slashes regulations and frees us from the burden of bureaucracy, we prosper.
"Together, we are rediscovering the American way," President Trump declared. "In America, we know that faith and family, not government and bureaucracy, are the center of the American life. Our motto is 'in God we trust.'" But the left’s motto is, “In Government we trust.” And only when they’re in charge.
... all these insiders were playing the careerist odds. What we view as reprehensible behavior, they at the time considered wise investments that would earn rewards with an ascendant President Hillary Clinton.
Not really a fight. The thing got Peterson even more attention. As a bravely rational guy, he deserves it. We linked the nutty, now-viral interview here. I think Ms. Newman is now hiding under her futon.
They look at the interview but then go deeper into the Peterson view of life in general, because this is a genuinely curious interviewer.
Never before in American history has a major political party put the interests of lawbreaking foreign nationals ahead of the interests of law abiding Americans. Yet that is exactly what the Democrats have done in holding the government hostage to extract special favors for illegal immigrants.
This is a remarkable achievement — and it’s the only achievement the Democrats can claim since blowing their “sure thing” election in 2016.
We end the week with the bombshell revelations, which in point of fact are the confirmation of our now long-held suspicions, that the fabricated Trump "dossier" was in fact used as a pretext to illegally obtain a FISA warrant as legal cover to spy on first the Trump campaign in order to derail it and then the nascent Trump Administration to for all intents and purposes overthrow it. It also had a parallel goal of obfuscating Hillary's and Obama's real crimes by manufacturing evidence that "see, Trump did it too, so no big deal" or something like that.
As of now, key Republicans are pushing to have this smoking gun, nay, still-flaming howitzer, released to the public while the Democrats, many of whom being part of this "investigation" can be considered co-conspirators in the coverup if not the actual crime, are desperately trying to keep it secret.
I find all of this deeply depressing. Corruption is what comes of having a government too big and powerful.
