We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Not really a fight. The thing got Peterson even more attention. As a bravely rational guy, he deserves it. We linked the nutty, now-viral interview here. I think Ms. Newman is now hiding under her futon.
They look at the interview but then go deeper into the Peterson view of life in general, because this is a genuinely curious interviewer.
Caught this one last night. It's one of the best interviews I've heard in quit a while. I'm inclined to agree with Dr. Peterson as to the best outcome; but I would note that Ms Newman was hoist on her own petard by her own, very deliberate choice.
One of the problems of reaching my mid-'60s is that I'm old enough to remember when Ms Newman's conduct would have been regarded as unprofessional, and her approach to interviewing as journalists malpractice. Times and standards may have changed; but I take some comfort in knowing a few broadcast journalists half my age who would still regard her conduct as having fallen short of the mark.
Thanks for posting only 35 minutes so far but this is gold. Well worth anyone's time. Best to watch the Newman interview first. Dr. Peterson was on Fox tonight as well.
Nothing but PR hype to sell more books for Peterson. Storm in a teacup.
However, interesting material that could keep many psychologists busy in the phrases used by the gleeful internet titles and comments on this epic battle of Marduk (Peterson) versus Tiamat (Newman).
