Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Nan Decker (h/t, LGF) From today's LectionaryRomans 8:6-11 6 The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; 7 the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. 8 Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. 9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you. McCain's victory speechI will support this fellow. I do not agree with him about every issue - but I do not agree with anybody about every issue. I just hope he won't be another Bob Dole in the campaign. Here are some bits from his March 4 comments: Bringing Christ to Work in NYCThe New York Post reports on the growing movement to bring God into the workplace. A quote:
They stay low-profile, though. It almost reminds me of the early days of Christianity in Rome:
I say bring Him to work. He can handle it, and Wall Street needs His companionship as much as any other workplace.
