It just dawned on me --the country is in the middle of a gigantic divorce proceeding. The Dems are the women, the Pubs are the men. It plays that way in every example you can think of --behavior, property, aggression, defensiveness, and it's a custody case, too --the nation is the only child --

i'm interested in this. does anyone know of some authors, articles, etc. that address the reprecussions of giving women the right to vote? my sometimes outspoken mother said this to me a few years ago and i thought it was early stages of dementia. not so sure anymore. love to learn more.

The child in this custody battle gets to determine which parent it wants to live with. The Dems ( socialists) or the Pubs ( free markets)
Maybe the child will act like Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie Catch Me If You Can. Not sign the papers and run away.
It will be interesting to see how the nation decides.

There's some powerful incentives to save the marriage --can't sell the house (the geography) and neither parent wants to hurt the kid (the Constitution). I mean, that's what we have to try to believe, anyway. At least try, give it the old college try, to believe it.

I think we'll circle the wagons, but we'll still end up with joint custody. You know how that goes - After a time, the kids want to stay with only one parent after all. The other parent gives them presents and takes them out, but they want where they can get the love.

Buddy, it's a good comparison, and that this is a custody proceeding doesn't change the fact that our problem is that we're distant and would rather not have to deal with all the lunatic kid's self-inflicted problems and all of her self-inflicted problems at the same time; her problem is that she's f***ing nuts.
