Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

My "individual salvation depends on collective salvation." Huh? What? Since when? I think I need a vacation to deeply ponder this notion of "collective salvation." Or is the "wagon" I am supposed to hitch onto just the same old IRS?

Here's where it gets gooey. Many spiritually advanced people I know (not coweringly religious, mind you, but deeply spiritual) identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre earthly experiment. These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are philosophers and peacemakers of a very high order, and they speak not just to reason or emotion, but to the soul.
Lightworker or anti-Christ? A messiah - no doubt about it. A power-hungry one, too. The world has gone mad!
But what else is new? "These kinds of people actually help us evolve."
Another person who does not understand evolution--I mean, apart from being a rip-snorting lunatic. Some people think McCain is a bad Republican...Chuck Hagle just needs to join fellow crank Bob Barr and leave the party...what an ass hat.
Good Morning, BD." O' Captain, my Captain". Captain of the kings, or court jester of the kings. I was hoping that Monday morning links would be up by now. Let's play a game of pretend. Let's pretend I'm Ricky Ricardo and you're Lucy. "Lucy, you got a lot o' splainin' to do." I noticed from my catch-up reading Sunday night that you never responded to Luther, Buddy, or Meta as to the verification of Meta. What's up with that? If you don't respond I'm going to believe the picture of you last week is you, and that your shade gardens are nothing more than a front for the wacky tobacky farm you live on. I bet you're even growing poppies. So do the honorable thing and come clean on this mess. PS - sorry about the wife :-)
I am not following the details that closely, but I'm pretty sure that's what our local Chief of Internet Security told me.
Of course, there could be a genuine Meta also. NJ: You're right, the Coyote site was quite interesting. Did you see his review of the 'Planet Slayer' game? He answered the questions honestly and it gave him 1.4 years of life before he became an outright endangerment to the planet. Of course, I'm one to talk. It gave me "-1" years.
If you are going to make such an assertion then please pay attention to details. While it may seem a trivial matter to you there are some few who feel your assertion without proof reflects poorly on the integrity of MF, and who would like to see the issue settled, one way or the other. Was Meta a construct of Habu, yes or no.
Very Democrat Party reply BD. Feign lack of importance of question, then blame your staff, and then say: " I could be wrong." Next you should say your sorry to the fools who might have been offended.
I too am curious about Meta only because if it truly was Habu than that dude was more amazingly wacked than I had thought. Even if Meta is not H, he's still one amazingly crazy dude or perhaps dudess. Perhaps we have had it backwards where H is a construct by a female named Meta.
Makes my head swim. "collective salvation" means "Smart people will tell you how to spend your money."
As to the Meta accusation, I don't know exactly what you claimed, BD, but she feels she was convicted without an opportunity to offer evidence on her own behalf. Being a host includes responsibilities. The most likely explanation is that habu in one of his shape-shifting episodes used meta's handle.
Habu is an amazing dude alright, but meta & luther & I exchanged email addys about a year ago (i have no concept of time on the net, so it may've been a few months, or seven years), when we were all three reading William Manchester's ''Goodbye Darkness'', and wished to discuss it at length without boring the blog. We emailed back n forth considerably, for awhile, as we ran thru favorite books and unloaded a few ex-spouse rants. She makes an impression -- she's not just female but hyper-female -- as in, there's just no mistaking a high-operating female mind --that ''alternate universe'' thing. Meta is full of wildly iconoclastic takes on the various rags of reality, and her writing is the farthest thing in the world from what some trickster would -- or more importantly, 'could' -- ever create. So, long/short, if Meta is Habu then he is not only a merry prankster, but a seriously schizoid & totally deranged madman, and should be writing for a living. I'll bet MF $500 they're not the same. I'd go higher but I wouldn't mind raising a little $ for United Way and thus wish to keep the entry barrier low enough to gull the mark. Loser to post a .jpg of the cancelled check (personal info redacted of course) on the blog. My win goes to United Way. MF win goes to whomever MF specifies.
