We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The 4th of July weekend is a good time to remind everybody about the genius of the US Constitution. This founding document (1787) is a work of genius, especially insofar as it took into account human nature.
Declaring independence from Britain was a bold move (Thank you, France, for your help), but the cornerstone is the Constitution.

As everybody knows, things with THC in them are gradually becoming legalized in the US. THC is a popular recreational chemical (organic and natural, too), and many use it for insomnia. Legally or illegally, anybody can obtain it.
In my view, its best use is for music appreciation. Beer does not have that benefit. I do not advocate being a chronic stoner any more than I advocate alcohol abuse - it does not work well in life and both are dangerous for vulnerable people.
