Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Hope and Change

I heard Obama say last night "This country needs fundamental change."

Fundamental, in Merriam-Webster:

1 a: serving as an original or generating source : primary <a discovery fundamental to modern computers> b: serving as a basis supporting existence or determining essential structure or function : basic2 a: of or relating to essential structure, function, or facts : radical

I could not disagree more. Furthermore, I'd like to see this country return to its fundamentals.

Expect the new Obama administration to empanel a constitutional convention to replace the 'outdated' constitution. Ratification will be limited only to Congress. No term limits for president.
