Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Naturally

Naturally, the Obamas send their kids to elite private schools. Would not want them associating with the riff-raff or being taught by unionized teachers.

That's what wealthy Liberals do. Lefties seem to consist mainly of the condescending and/or guilty elites and the "gimme more" poor - and the young kids who know nothing about real life.

Public schools are for us proles, I guess. Us middle-class proles who work hard and pay our taxes and worry about our savings.

Palin's kids go to public school.

many of us would send our kids to public schools except in the city they tend to have degenerated into third world hellholes....so not much choice...in smaller towns its not so bad.

Sorry, but the children of prominent people SHOULD be in private schools for their own safety. They are subject to far more danger than other children and more precaution has to be taken. It's perfectly understandable why the Obamas, because of their prominence, would choose to place their girls in a private school where they could be much safer.

No real need in a small community like Alaska, I would think, where people know each other very well and would catch hell for bothering someone else's kids. In a major city like Chicago, not for a minute should Obama, or anyone else so prominent, expose his kids to the danger from some deranged individual.
