We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Buddy, my Dad worked for Polaroid for 33 years. He loved Dr Land, my Dad use to call Polaroid home away from home. I can remember as a kid, Polaroid owned Tech Square in Cambridge,Mass in it's hay day . Now it is all gone, except the memories. Glade to hear you survived your daughter's graduation. Tell her she's on her own now; no more payouts from pops. : )
That's a neat story, jappy. I dunno why, but Dr. Land and the Polaroid make a very fine picture in the mind -- a picture of the ideal good-humored, high-minded American genius and his virtuous circle of enterprise.
I'll be sure and pass that on to daughter, too -- bloody hell, the Great Spending hasn't even BEGUN yet -- (*sob*) --
