Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

QQQ

In most societies in the world, people aren't worried about the price of gas. They're worried about where their next meal is coming from.

Mark Levin, on the radio tonight. It's a good point: the whole world would love to have the worries that Americans have.

Still true, but less true than it was. There is still far to go, but starvation level poverty is now mostly only in Africa or under communist rulers.

The good ship America is still the best ship out there. I know we have problems but if Obama is elected president the good ship will take on water, might capsize, or get grounded on a rocky coast.
