We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Do you really like the "speed bump" on the grip safety? As a person of small stature (yeah, I'm short and fat) and possessing small hands, I find that a standard shape of grip safety works better for me. I don't really need the beavertail either, since I've never suffered from hammer-bite like people with bigger hands.
I've never held a Baer, but I'm told that the fit and finish are outstanding. Tight, yet reliable. And a price tag to match.
Guess I'll just have to keep shooting the ol' Springfield until I can afford something like it. And with ammo prices going up the way they've been, we have to do even more shooting with the Ruger 22/45, a great practice pistol for shooting the big-bore .45 ACP for a tenth the cost.
