We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
We've gone astray from first principles. We've lost sight of the rule that individual freedom and ingenuity are at the very core of everything that we've accomplished. Government's first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives.
'Government's first duty is to PROTECT the people...'
The 'protect' part is what the libs take to an extreme. They want to protect us from any and all possible suffering, hurt feelings, injury and even innapropriate gazing. And coincidently it takes a much bigger government with almost unlimited powers at the expense of personal liberty to do that. No thank you.
If someone with a similar political philosophy as Ron Paul would run but who doesn't come off as a kook and is hawkish around foriegn policy, I'd vote and work for them.
