We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Friedman was an extraordinarilly, gifted man who communicated complex ideas with astounding clarity and simplicity. I don't know what Klein's problem was, but Donahue always struck me as willfully opaque.
Thanks for sharing this. Friedman was one of the greatest minds and forces for freedom of the 20th century.
A famous Austrian immigrant gave a glowing testimony to Friedman in the intro to the "Free to Choose" video series (see http://www.ideachannel.tv/). It's painful to see a man who used to speak so clearly about freedom now gladly wield power to create an ever-more-intrusive socialist state of his own.
