When people talk about being guided by science, I get the creeps. It gives me the same sort of creeps that Utilitarianism does. It has overtones of "scientific socialism," for me, and Brave New World.

"Science" is amoral. Facts are amoral. Pure reason is amoral.

Prof. Deneen agrees.

Submit yourself to thinking of the Church of Scientology and I guarantee you'll change your mind. Look at bisexual heartthrobs Tom Cruise and John Travolta, and that's just scratching the Hollywood surface.

As a Christian, I tend to believe that God will not allow us to go too far with all this cloning business, etc. Scientist's recently announced that they had unlocked the genetic code. To me, it's a signal that we are in the End Times. Think of it this way, would the Creator allow us to create our own beings?

I can see it now, a 1st grade class full of 200 IQ, six-foot-tall 6 year-olds. All with parents who want a return on investment. Yechhh---sometimes it's good to get old.

It'll be like the steroid phenom--if someone else is doing it, you gotta do it too or lose the race (the thinking will be).

Contemplating having a child? Well, better do the gene-altering, cuz not to would amount to pre-child-abuse. "Mommy, daddy, the giants is all raising the grade curve!"

well,since we're projecting dystopias:

the Harvard@kindergarten/master-race/gene-tinkerers
will get a dissapointing shock,
when the Singularity arrives
and makes human-descision-making a thing of the past.

too messy.
not consistent enough.
if Science nows best,
but the machine knows even Better.
