Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

VN to close 86 million inactive accounts, better known as de-banking, to rid the proles of privacy and liberty of thought. Didn't the Blackrock CEO just take over the leadership of the WEF? More machinations of the Elite to hide themselves and expose everyone else.
The strike on Qatar... aahhh, the muzzi snake in the weeds gang attracting all the wrong attention.
Why did no one help Iryna Zarutska... the best reason why mass transit should be defunded besides its loss of accountability to passengers and taxpayers.
Charlie Kirk martyred... the deranged continue to sink further into the gutter of life while trying to drag us along with them.
I saw the comment that Zachireal posted that disappeared.
FTR, the worst of the claims, that he said he hated blacks, is defamatory and easily disproven. The others were the typical mischaracterizations and gaslighting Zach frequently engages in. He really outdid himself with that one. I hope you permanently ban him. James: the worst of the claims, that he said he hated blacks, is defamatory and easily disproven.
You are correct. The statement allegedly came from Turning Point’s national field director, Crystal Clanton, which she denies. Kirk’s other statements about so-called racial replacement and denigrating minorities remain part of his legacy. “…denigrating minorities…”
A few examples might be helpful.
“I’m sorry, if I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, ‘Boy, I hope he’s qualified.’” “Diversity isn’t our strength. It’s a weakness when it means bringing in people who don’t share our values or history.” Thank you for showing us how twisted and sick your worldview is.
It's always educational. If you understand what DEI means it would be normal to fear putting your trust in a DEI appointee. A DEI "doctor" is a crime against humanity, ditto for a DEI pilot. If you do not understand this you lack basic intelligence. As for the blanket statement about wanting to avoid flying if the pilot is African American THAT is the exact reason intelligent people warned the left against DEI. DUH! By embracing DEI you shoot yourself. your tribe, in the foot. It is a self fulfilling prophecy. The ironic thing is that form many years in Africa, black Africans refused to fly in planes piloted by black Africans. They would only fly with pilots who were European or white Africans.
JustMe: If you understand what DEI means it would be normal to fear putting your trust in a DEI appointee.
Yet, as more Blacks and women have been hired as commercial pilots, fatalities have declined. Is irrational racial bias a valid basis for public policy?

Now make the case that the correlation--instead of increasingly safer planes, navigation and communication technologies, and control standards--is about increased "diversity" as you imply.

That wasn't the claim. The claim is that DEI has made air traffic less safe. The data shows an inverse correlation between the hiring of historically excluded minorities and airline fatalities; which, while not definitive, argues against the claim. It is up to those who support the claim to provide evidence for that claim, including a valid definition of DEI beyond irrational bias.

DEI by definition MUST make everything less safe. That is the whole point and all your deflections and assumptions don't change that. and at it's base level DEI is intended to make everything less safe. Appoint a high school dropout as chief surgeon and surgery will be less safe. It is not a secret that DEI makes everything worse and in the mind of the far left that is a feature not a problem. The left wants chaos because then the citizens will in desperation willingly give up their rights for the promise of safety. DEI and all other left wing policies and agendas are intended to make things less safe and promise to fix it if you give up your liberties. Minorities, women and other special interest groups are merely pawns in this game of thrones played by the communist left.

Increasing the pool of available workers will tend to increase workforce skill. Notably, you didn't provide a valid definition of DEI beyond irrational bias. I'm not talking about "the claim". I'm talking about your unsupported implication that there's a correlation between increased hiring of "Blacks and women" and increased safety.
"Yet, as more Blacks and women have been hired as commercial pilots, fatalities have declined." You made the correlation. Care to make the case?

Huh? There is a correlation, and the support was provided. However, that doesn’t mean there is causation, nor did we or would we make that claim. The original claim was that hiring Blacks reduced safety, and the correlation provides contrary empirical evidence, albeit not definitive, which is more than was provided by those making that claim, who point to irrational racial bias.

Regarding the pilot quote, DEI requires companies and institutions to have unqualified people. Because a company targets for hiring a certain percentage of different colors of people, that is an admission that their color is the most important thing about them. In the case of airline pilots, do you really think there are as many black or Hispanic pilots as there are white pilots?
I notice that nobody has accused companies of discriminating against minority pilots but only that there ought to be more colors of pilots. mudbug: DEI requires companies and institutions to have unqualified people.
Can you substantiate your claim, that qualifications for acquiring a commercial pilot's license are relaxed for non-whites? As already noted, airline safety has improved as the number of Black and female pilots has increased. DEI often just entails outreach to minorities to increase representation; increasing the pool of available workers tending to increase workforce skill. mudbug: do you really think there are as many black or Hispanic pilots as there are white pilots? About 4% of USA airline pilots are Black, about 5% are Hispanic.

Here's one. Back in the 90's I had a friend who was a flight instructor for the AF. For males, it was basically true that after 3 tries at learning a skill, if you couldn't succeed, you were out--you wouldn't get wings. Females got as many tries as they needed learn a task. There was visible pressure to "pass" a female's marginal or failed try. To be clear, some women were excellent pilots and never exceeded the 3 strikes rule. Others were not good pilots and frankly my friend did not always want to fly with them. They scared him. They struggled with basic airmanship and were still allowed to earn wings. To my knowledge, to some extent, this is true.
In short, some females (certainly not all) were significantly worse pilots than the worst males granted wings, and if male, would never have earned wings. This was 30 or so years ago.

Every one of the quotes follow the same patten. You divorce the phrase from its context and ignore Kirk's argument in a way that suggest a motivation that Kirk did not have and a meaning that was not accurately attributable to him.
Either you have actually listened to enough of Kirk to know what you're doing, or you haven't. Both are acts of bad faith and the acts of an evil person. But your quasi-religious progressive political beliefs require that. You can't take his actual arguments and respond to them effectively. To even state them in an attempt to refute them is to risk having your audience adopt Kirk's positions. You evil actions mirror those of the people who inspired Kirk's murderer. And are the behaviors that drive much of the massive, escalating violence of the left. But when a movement can't make a case, their options are limited. Lose, revise, or continue politics by another means. You've applauded the lefts choice of the latter. You bare a share of the blame for Kirk's murder. The irony that has already been repeatedly pointed out is that Kirk was an off ramp for the left. He talked and listened and wanted to talk and listen. He was reasonable, fair, and polite to the people he engaged with. He literally said that when the talking stop, the fighting starts. The left responded by killing him. I suspect the Rubicon has been crossed. Nobody is going to like the results, but the odds are pretty high that you and your ilk are going to get the rawest end of it by far. You really are a horrible person. To respond specially to your claims.
"Undocumented immigrants are coming to the U.S. to replace white Americans“. It's true. Multiple public progressives have explicitly said it. Kirk has also pointed out that the illegal immigrates are replacing black Americans and Hispanic Americans. “Diversity isn’t our strength. It’s a weakness when it means bringing in people who don’t share our values or history.” There isn't anything remotely controversial about that. It is obviously true. Import a large number of people who do not share or respect your culture, tell them their culture is superior as progressives do, and encourage and enable them not to assimilate and you will destroy the culture and the country. Which is literally the primary motivation of the left in embracing mass illegal immigration from the developing and undeveloped world. Also exactly the argument Kirk repeatedly made. “I’m sorry, if I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, ‘Boy, I hope he’s qualified.’” That one is a real wopher. The data, of questionable reliability, is not valid. The data one would need is the number of potentially dangerous decisions or actions by piolets by race, ethnicity, and gender. Kirk's argument was that DIE and AA are not merit based and thus are racially or sexually discrimination, which is immoral and illegal and also economically and socially maladaptive. Granted, that is a much more difficult argument for you to refute that your lie, but that is the accurate description of his postion. James: It's true.
Yes, the Papists are coming ashore to take over. Or the Chinese. Or Jews. Or Italians. Or Poles. In any case, then there should be no issue with posting his words {with context!}. QUOTE: Charlies Kirk: The great replacement strategy, which is well underway every single day in our southern border, is a strategy to replace white rural America with something different... The same way that Joseph Stalin went after the kulaks, they wanna go after you. You simply hate the point that Kirk was making about the illegal importation of labor to replace Americans at the workplace. Once again the elitist gets their cheap house and garden labor, fill the slaughterhouses with cheap labor, find cheap drywall and roofing labor and place cheap coding labor in the cubicles. The illegals enter by the millions with some replacing American labor and some simply riding the wagon. You firmly believe in magic dirt where illegals are transformed to western Christian culture simply by being here. Unfortunately, they continue practicing their birth culture with zero understanding of why they must leave. You have such a deranged understanding of western Christian culture but are thrilled by the output of the sophist academy.

Let let cellphones into schools because of people like my sister that helicopter over their kids. My nephew is 22, and my sister has him calling home at lunch time from his job to check in. Give the kids a break!
If you watch random YouTube videos, as I do, you would notice that in the last 8 hours literally dozens of videos trying to accuse Kirk of homophobia, racism hate speech and on and on. Many even try to justify his murder. This isn't grass roots speaking their mind it is paid propaganda and almost seems like it was planned. The vicious attack on Charlie Kirk continues even after they killed him. It has been obvious for some time that Zach is a paid far left troll and he too seems to have acquired a paid gig attacking Kirk.
My concern isn't the propaganda, their disgusting comments and that so many on the left drink this koolaid and seem willing to join in the violence. My concern is that this is classic communist tactics that are typically employed in the end game of their move for power. I think the left is about to go kinetic in their lust for power and If I were a well known conservative and/or religious leader I would be very careful for awhile. I think the far left is about to show their true colors. I would be disappointed to hear that he was not homophobic. Unfortunately, he promoted decriminalisation of homosexuality in Africa and was in favour of the monstrous adoption of children by these perverts, in the process facilitating the denial of motherhood, child-trafficing and paedophilia. It seems he was far from being a Christian, if these reports are true.
I too would love to block the Zach. But it's ironical to it in the name of Charlie Kirik - a true champion of open discourse.
Is there any way to limit the size and frequency of comment posts? Say, 1-2 posts of x length per blog item. Ben David: But it's ironical to it in the name of Charlie Kirik - a true champion of open discourse.
Yes, it’s ironical. Kirk wanted to exclude from American society those who were different from himself, while you want to ban from the discourse those with views different from yourself. As for frequency of posts, we respond if someone directly addresses our position. We generally ignore off-topic comments, but it’s ironical that your comment seemingly relates. You worship multiculturalism even though it creates loss of trust between the cultures. Look at the loss of trust, including murders, between Europeans and their imported black and muslim groups. Euro's always bragged about their low crime rates until they were inundated with immigrants. Now look at the different crime rates between the races in the US. Rational governments do not import immigrants that are not compatible with western culture. It does seem that even Minnesota is learning that cultures are not equal when observing what happens when "free money" programs such as food and autism grifting isn't critically audited. My suspicion is that liberal/progressive/socialist/communists simply enjoy the chaos of the multicultural religion hoping to increase their political power and control.
Kirk NEVER wanted to exclude from American society those who were different from himself. That is a flat out lie.
His view on trans is that they were mentally ill and should get treatment for that and not sex change. That is in fact true and the common belief on all the normal people in the world. Giving them operations and life changing drugs is sadistic and stupid. The looney left choose to call that opinion transphobic exactly so they could generate hate and maybe encourage a useful idiot to shoot him. OneGuy: Kirk NEVER wanted to exclude from American society those who were different from himself.
Charlie Kirk: “The 'great replacement' strategy, which is well underway every single day on our southern border, is a strategy to replace white rural America with something different.” This is the same trope used against Catholics, Jews, and other immigrant minorities in the past. That "trope" used against Catholics was used by the Biden administration and even labeled practicing Christians as extremists. It would seem that progressive/socialist world still operates under the Jacobin rules of the Enlightenment. And it appears that even Tim Kaine is unaware of where our rights come from. As a VP candidate it does point to the Constitutional shallowness of his party.

(Using my 2nd comment for this thread...)
Regarding Work-from-home vs. Back to the Office. I shall now look around this blog space and say "I Told You So". Every time this topic came up... Back to Office is a non-starter for almost all office workers, except lazy workers and poor (middle) managers - whose irrelevance is revealed by WFH. Back to Office means more employer outlays for travel, clothing, and food... even housing... at a time when companies increasingly shirk any long-term commitments or responsibilities. Anyone who thought this pendulum was going to swing back was kidding themselves. 'Why did no one help Iryna Zarutska?'
Because they shouldn't have. If they'd intervened, they would've probably been given the Daniel Penny treatment. Aside from that, chivalry is as dead as she is. I am 60 years old and I almost never cry. But I have wanted to cry all week, and I couldn't figure out why.
Was it the Kirk assassination? Was it the sheer hatred that has been incubated against America and its founding stories? Was it due to the serial dramas I encounter at my job? No. It was the callous indifference, caught in brutal, real time footage, showed to Iryna as she bled out on public transport that shocked me to the core. Having realized it finally, I have cried fruitful, angry tears on and off all day. I fret that our urban neighbors have been given a million excuses not to intervene in the horrors around them today, that most of us will just slump closer to our stupid phones, and claim innocence while we ignore a vicious stabbing occurring at our very elbows. And I hope that God will save America! Andrew Breitbart and Charlie Kirk were killed because they were intelligent and peaceful men talking truth and common sense and their words converted many young people who had been seduced by the left. They were self-declared enemies of communism and communism demanded their death. The induced heart attack of Andrew Breitbart was "perfect" but as the communist left became bolder they wanted the world to know it was an assassination to incite fear and intimidation. New bolder tactics for a stronger and bolder communist movement. I would not be surprised to see more of this.
