Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Wednesday, March 6. 2024Some Interesting Medical Update Informations Oddly Related to Small DegreesWhile I wish it was something far more open about survival longer than expectations (which anything is possible, however unlikely), I got some interesting information. One person shared a book in comments - thank you! I have ordered it. To me, it's a winner. Neurosurgeons who know patients with limited times and low expectations and how to handle it. I consider that a blessing. Oddly, I received a call early today. From a bit of a distant friend of a friend from Cincinnati. My friend had lived there before having to move to California (where she hates it now and blames Gavin Newsom as an absolute horrific holder of an office that somehow keeps winning and having press supporting his absolute horror, leading her to leave). That oddness of California aside, my friend introduced us to her friends in Cincinnati. While my son attended college in Miami, Ohio, I often had rooms in Cincinnati and would meet them locally for great times. They were wonderful people. This person is a deep follow on several levels, and out of the blue she shared with me information about family and friends who literally have the same illness of my own - and how they finished their lives wondefully and openly. I can only hope more of the same and more of that. But what was really amazing was the friend had a wife with the same as mine. And he supported her tremendously. Then built a non-profit to assist people of this kind to gain assistance for travel if they wanted it to help enjoy their final months. He is a master. I hope to speak with him very soon. Mainly to learn his life, introduce him to my wife so she can learn from him as well, and just see how to live a life as it winds down in this way. I do not know if I'll benefit from the non-profit travel, but if we luck out I hope we can make some travels very soon. I hope as much as possible to share more about this and here - as anyone who knows others who suffer should be able to not only benefit from opportunities like this, but to speak as well. I have not spoken to anyone with this (many often avoid speaking in some fashion) but I know one who was not concerned at all and we loved her personally, 3 years ago. My favorite story of hers was her issue diagnosed in April 2020 after Covid announcements. No surgery capable for her. Police often annoyed her when she did things - warning her of Covid issues. They did the same to another friend dying in that period of pancreatic cancer. Both of them attacked the cops and politicians about how they were confused about people dying and willing to have fun regardless of Covid risk. I look back and my own experience with Covid - rather severe at the end of March and beginning of April. Oddly, people thought they knew how to handle this all due to political nonsense and medical claims. I had received it probably on March 13th, though it wasn't diagnosed until the 30th. All I can say is it was bad for 3 days. Very bad. But even then I knew I'd had FAR WORSE flu illnesses years before. So I'd basically call most of the stuff from journalism and politicians as BS. I'd learned over 75 others who were diagnosed. Only one worse than me. I knew 100 or so who were NEVER diagnosed with Covid despite often run-ins with it. Ultimately, I'd have free tests of antigens via NYC and after over 18 months they were still VERY HIGH. My new company still required me getting the vaccine. I fought that in November 2021, they said I'd be let go. I fought again and explained I had antigen listings. They said NO. So I got the vaccine and was sick for a full day over it. To this day, it was the stupidest concept I've seen. My father recently, at 88, got his Covid vaccine. I was iffy about that. I knew several others who had gotten it to receive local help in hospitals, like he'd required. Many got even worse despite the vaccine. My father lucked out and was not infested at all. But to this day I remain openly questionable about many things from Covid misinformation - which remains significant on how people felt about it - and even sometimes misinformation that I have talked to people about regarding my Glio Blastoma. There is plenty to read that is informational with Glio. Oddly, speaking with my father in 2020 and until the vaccine, he was well informed. Careful at his age, but even stating most of what he'd read and heard (as he formerly knew Fauci and did not like him at all) was a bit misleading. That said, at his age, he felt carefulness was necessary and since I was cleared by end of April, he invited me back to visit him. Even today, at 88 now, and suffering from other issues, he enjoyed seeing me again and was open discussing my situation with much reality. He is a great source of information and content when he is openly speaking.
(small 3/7 7pm note) Every now and then I find small issues related to my recovery. Words misspelled from time to time. Oddly, my left eye is in relatively good shape but feels week at times, which creates a misguided notice from time to time of the language here and there. I have no issue of anyone pointing it out or mentioning it - in fact, I noticed it on my title this evening when I was re-reading. I had spoken today with my radiation doctor and mentioned the left eye being clear, but also feeling weak. He said that is normal and should continue to improve. Or it may not. He was more concerned about some flashes it sees from time to time. Just flashing light and occasional notice of movement which other people do not see. His claim is that it does not exist. I would argue my eye IS SEEING SOMETHING REAL - and I have, in fact, noticed this twice already after being told it does not exist. I worry that people think it is seeing something fake, so I remain quiet despite clearly noticing fake things others do not. It's not mind falsely seeing things. I can assure that. It is, however, interesting. It in fact noticed while I was not driving and saw the results of an accident that the driver declared "did not happen" when in fact it had. The motion of the resultingly injured people is often disregarded or discounted. I was declared to be "seeing falsehood" and that worries me, but it's clear to me it hasn't yet.) Trackbacks

I'm more than a little questioning about almost all the Wuhan flu information that was shoved down our throats. I'm glad it's over but I think the reaction the perpetrators of that nightmare think it went well enough and they'll try it again when it suits them.
I'm amazed and thankful that you have such a wonderful and positive outlook. I can only believe that it is and will continue to serve you well. I'm looking forward to hearing about the fun things you'll do! I don't think any of the original restrictions made any sense at all.
The problem was a very large overreaction to Covid and its danger. In fact, the restrictions cost at least 3 families I'm familiar with massive numbers of death related to lockdowns which, in cases like that, cost these families large infections and lives that were related more to being locked down than to being realistic. It was made worse by the extensions. I remember one woman screaming at me in a store for being within 5 feet of her (3 months after I'd recovered with antigens) and "KILLING ME". Um...no. The same problem became true with the vaccine reactions. I know of one person, Mrs. Bulldog, being within inches of more than 6 people who later within a day or two of being announced as infected. She caught it, exactly never. That includes being locked down with me and originally, before my diagnosis, of sharing lots of food with me while I was coughing with her. So it aligns with my POV which was that being wise and careful is smart. But being excessive is absurd and stupid. The same remains true with my current Glio Blastoma. If I overreact to this, I'd be out of touch with reasonable behavior. I can be honest and tell you someone I know very well has already gotten into several fights with me claiming that I am "out of touch with reality" using my logical, basic, POV on Glio. I know I'm likely to die, it's really pretty simple, within 18 months or so. Best to be logical, practical and meaningful with logic. Which gee - was exactly how I behaved during Covid and had people claiming I was an "insane nutjob which would kill people". Ummm...no. After all, Florida did what I suggested. And while it is older, larger, and far more logical in treating people than New York (compare the two states in size, ages, and people and you'll be shocked how Florida isn't worse). Florida MADE LOGICAL SENSE. So did Sweden. But people today are just crazy about how Covid was handled but whacked out politicians. That's what scares me. Hey, It's Jeff!!
