We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I believe this is the same David Brooks who said the nuclear family was a mistake. Given that he is considered a conservative, would it be fair for me to say that family values are no longer important. I don't have kids. So, I have no dog in this fight. I just find it interesting that a conservative would hold such a position.
The NYT (and their friends) call him a conservative. I'm not aware of anybody else who does, but the fact that the NYT calls him a conservative should be all you need to know to decide if he is a conservative or not.
