Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Roger Scruton, RIP

He has been in the Maggie's Pantheon of thinkers since we began this website.  Brief obit.

What's the intro music? I want the sheet music, but I can't come up with the name.

It's from Toccata and Fugue in D minor BWV 565. I think it's the 'fugue' part. It's the part that starts at 2:30 in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nnuq9PXbywA

Oh, of course! It's the part that begins right after the famous opening. I was looking for something that started with this passage, so no amount of scanning the first few measures was ever going to work! Thanks so much, that was going to drive me nuts.

And now that I've downloaded the sheet music from musicnotes.com, I see what I should have said was: the part used in the video is the "fugue," rather than the introductory "toccata." Anyway, now I have them both!
