We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
That's a pretty grisly story. I don't think that hunting wild animals is a good thing. The goat was just living his life. Why kill it? Deer in America are different, because their numbers increase so rapidly; it's necessary to cull the herd. But in the case of this animal, it was unnecessary. In fact, there is also the issue of what the guy was doing there in the first place. Can wild animals not find shelter anywhere? Do we have to intrude into their lives constantly? I think that sections of the planet such as the rain forests, and large parts of Africa should be declared off-limits to people. And the same goes for those cruise ships.
