We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Lovely little town. I sometimes (although not over the past couple years) hop on my bicycle and scoot on down there. There is a certain quietness to the place that is special for NJ. The Great Auditorium is one of the largest wooden structures in the US.
When my daughters were young they participated in the NJ State Youth Orchestra and the season finale was always their concert at the Great Auditorium. Acoustics are wonderful. Throughout the summer they have all sorts of musical events there. No need to to even enter and take a seat. Just walk up and stand near the doors. Some serious Gospel singing going on there. It was hurt pretty badly by Sandy but put back in order right smartly. Love the building, love the town.
