We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
i live in Olympia and have watched for YEARS how the college is used as a staging area for local and SEATTLE protests. I remember how at one time the locals hated the college. of course that has changed because those who used to be in those positions have been slowly replaced with Evergreen graduates. Washington, being a liberal state, will continue to fund this anarchy (in it's teachings and actions). it seems that all that can be hoped for will be a steady decline in enrollment until it simply can't be sustained. it is a beautiful campus but that is never the point. teach truth and allow folks to come to their own conclusions. This is NOT how the college is currently operated. it's a blight on the community as it is currently run. in my humble opinion.
When you stake your reputation on the fact that you refuse to prepare students for life after college, you pretty much get what you deserve.
Another guy named Dan
When the idiocy started, I wrote an email to the college president (found his addy on the website) telling him that he helped me to narrow down my choices on where to send my kids to college. I told him that there was no way in hell I would let my kids get near his toxic college.
Never heard back from him.
Probably had to go plan a protest against The Man, not realizing he is The Man.
