We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
That was very thought provoking. I admit that, in my life, I've launched off on certain projects only to abandon them years later. In my old age, I'm trying to be better at finishing things, though. In 1987 I bought an airplane kit and, due to one thing or another, I didn't finish it until 2014. But I finished it. In my defense, I took ten years off to build a house, quit my job, and moved to another state. Anyway, I've been flying my little rocket ship all over the Country and enjoying the heck out of it. I don't feel discontented at all. I guess my tombstone will read, "He finally finished something".
