Haidt can gasbag all he wants, but this is happening because it's the intended result of a 3 generations long left wing, neo-Marxist (Frankfurt School) effort to radicalize the western population and conduct a "long march through the institutions." The march was started partially by the followers of Antonio Gramsci and Herbert Marcuse; it was underwritten by the Soviets and other left wing governments and 'civil society' groups. (Lookin' at you, National Lawyer's Guild...)

Haidt's cutesy talk about "intersectionality" does this and that made me fume. Intersectionality is just a method of imputing victimhood to various classes, then encouraging them to lord it over everybody else, in a very conscious attempt to crush western social norms. Most of the followers are dupes. The leaders are not. A good example outside of intersectionality is the NY Times' recent attempts to norm pedo behavior. Nothing to see here, kids... just a Gramscian assault on social norms, morality and the 'squares.'

It's well and good to talk about symptoms and how we can treat those but until the philosophical leftist rot that drives this revolutionary movement is pulled out root and branch from our institutions, it won't be stopped.
