Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

College students gone wild

Along with the serious students who want to learn, and the wholesome non-serious students who want to drink and hook-up and go to the game,  there is always a group of self-important morons who want to make a splash and get in the news.  That is all to be expected.


I blame the spineless administrators who put up with this crap. Give those kids an inch and they'll take a mile, just like 2 year-olds.

A friend's daughter, who went to "U Dub" as UW is called by students, called these students "Granola people" and both schools have a good quota of them. I don't know what their majors are. Those students in the video are almost all white, which is typical of Portland and the college towns of Oregon. The Dartmouth disrupters were all black. I think this may be a sign of cultural despair. The blacks know their ethnic "Studies" degrees are useless and the white students know their similar "Gender Studies" are useless except in HR jobs and there are not enough of those.

Oh yes, but she was referring to their usual state of dress. Sandals and sack dresses for girls and the equivalent for boys. Only the boys have beards, though, Mostly.
