We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The Claremont colleges are skirting disaster. They are private, expensive and infested with leftist faculty. The administration need to study U of Missouri to see what a disaster is impending. Parent s are getting tired of this. Yale may survive because not enough people know the education has been hollowed out and just go for the brand. The same for Harvard. Claremont ? I don't think so. UCLA survives on the radical California legislature.
The reason these demonstrations keep happening is because the administration and the speakers keep giving up and giving in. What they need to do is have the speaker speak, have "bouncers" at the door to allow no one to enter with anything disruptive and let the speaker speak. If there is a disruption have the "bouncers" bounce the disrupters out. Do it everytime and as many times as it takes to allow the speaker to finish his speech.
