We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Back in the days when the law of defamation was developing in England, there was a time when a statement was not defamatory if it were possible to interpret it in any way that wasn't. This, obviously, is a primitive way of analyzing complex issues because it overlooks both context and intent.
The libtarded skools have taken the opposite, yet equally assaholic approach: if its possible to offend, is offensive, and where it is offensive, it must be banned.
A high school senior would understand intuitively what your basic kollege snowflake doesn't.
Did you ever really believe it would get this bad? How bad will it get. If a black woman dies/bleaches her hair blond isn't that the equivalent of 'blackface'? If a individual chooses to wear blackface for a halloween custom is that really a fireable offense? Would it be a firing offense to disrespect the flag while working for you employee in a public venue? Would it be a fireable offense to play rap music out loud?
This is nothing more than virtue signaling by college liberals trying to out liberal each other.
We had a local "blackface" costume and somebody who went and demanded an apology. The guy dressed up as the popular, local football coach and did a proper skin tone. She screamed racism even though there was nothing "blackface" about it. It was clean and it was true to the guy and wasn't insulting at all. She was completely blind to this difference.
