We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

What's next for the American Left to do?

During the Obama administration, the last two goals of the American Left have been set on paths to completion: government control of medical care, and open borders.


So do they announce that their domestic mission is accomplished and that all they need to do now is to be good stewards of what they have done? Nope. They have been busy forging a fresh agenda for the future, just as all organizations tend to do after their goals have been met.

The Left will begin offering middle-class freebies, and the Repubs will offer the promise of growth and opportunity. Who wins that argument?

David Horowitz explains the current version of the left in his 2014 book Take No Prisoners. Brought up as a Red-diaper kid, and a leftist radical in the 60s until his eyes were opened by events, he knows whereof he writes. The aim is a society of equals, dependent on and cared for by Big Government.

If you recall, Nancy Pelosi explained to a San Francisco audience of musicians and writers, how ObamaCare would set them free to create and do their music and writing without having to worry about how to pay for their medical care. It seemed a totally bizarre comment at the time, and I assumed that she had slipped another cog, but that's what they have in mind. The details, they will figure out later.

Of course you need wise smart people to control the details, but it will make the lefties feel so good to know that at last they have made everybody equal and completely cared for.

I visualize a committee, whose contributors have the emotional maturity of 7th graders and naivete of college sophomores, competing to produce either the most perverse or the most impractical idea. Recycling and rehashing the same old kr@p is outre, avant garde, or cutting edge. amirite

Wonder if they realize they are undercutting the unions pitch? Why sign up with some one who promises to negotiate for paid sick leave, health insurance, etc when if you vote right, get it for free? Then there's the hmm, call it the poverty caucus, wanting more for the downtrodden and those whose selfless task to succor them who are left out. Will be entertaining to see how this pander plays out.

These are methods not goals. The goal is to destroy the middle class and then take over the country in a Marxist socialist revolution. In a free country like the U.S. (was) that was an impossible task. The left is now on the path to success. The loyal opposition has decided to divide up the spoils rather then support and defend the constitution.
