Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

It's Warmer, No, It's Colder...No, It's Adjusted for Seasonal Variance.


There are moments in economic reporting when seasonal adjustments make sense.  But in reporting temperatures?


My fraternity had a summer paper that we mailed out to members.  Its motto was "All the sh*t that fits, we print."  This has been the motto of the IPCC for quite a long time.

A particularly insidious technique was the relentless lowering of historical temperature records in an attempt to make the "change" seem worse. If they had stuck to that maybe it wouldn't have been noticed. But the rush was on. Change current temperatures toa warmer reading. Fill in the missing temperatures in remote areas with unusually warm readings. A constant adding or subtracting to the data to keep up the AGW hysteria. At this point what more can they do? The "scare" has been exposed and while pliticians seem slow tocome around the people are waking up to the scam. This may be either the turning point of the scam orthe most dangerous point. Either they willabandon this scam or double down. What is next?

I'm willing to bet doubling-down is going to be the response, many times over. Because I'm a betting man.
