We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. An American Crisis

Misogyny and sexism, racism, income inequality, patriarchy, and homophobia and heteronormative ideals course through the culture like a pathogen in the blood, infecting the whole of the being beneath the surface.



Is there a diagnosis for people who worry about these things?

The Enlightenment is over. The West is dead. Racial Socialism (formerly known as National Socialism), Class Socialism (formerly known as Communism) and Gender Socialism along with the fourth variant, Environmentalism have replaced the deceased.

Why should they teach the despised literature of a dead past? The new normal knowledge reflects the new normal family which reflects the new normal polity. It is a replacement as thorough as Christianizing the Roman Empire. All will be within its grasp.

Thus do the gods and festivals of the old religion become the demons and demonic rites of the new religion.

The dead cannot complain. They had their chance to fight back and win in the 1960s, instead, our institutions quavered and fell. Everything since has been denoument.

Don't write this down, but I find Milton probably as boring as you find Milton. Mrs. Milton found him boring too. He's a little bit long-winded, he doesn't translate very well into our generation, and his jokes are terrible.

Having been already infected, I do not know of a cure for those so afflicted. One way to prevent the possibility of becoming afflicted is to avoid as many social science and humanities courses as possible.
Not that taking humanities and social science courses will inherently lead to becoming afflicted, but rather that those teaching humanities and social science courses these days are afflicted and do their utmost to afflict others.

Get your non-STEM learning free of those wanting to pass on the affliction. Get an e-reader and load up for free from Project Gutenberg.

Departments of hate studies forcing the college to mandate that students take hate studies classes. Who could possibly have seen this coming. It wasn't mentioned in the article but I assume there is a course in faking a racist/homophobic/sexist attack for fun and profit.
I thought it was telling that the academics considered Shakespear to be of no value to an English major but that these hate studies were appropriate somehow. It's really too bad that they cannot teach common sense.
