Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Split but not stacked

This should keep my
study cozy after work,
for the next couple of
months. Love the splitting, but hate the stacking.

This what you might call a Connecticut logpile, not a Vermont pile (which would be 100 times larger). I am only on my second cord for this mild winter.

That's my spring-loaded splitting maul. A cool tool.

Now that is what I would call a lady-pleasing woodpile. In New Hampshire, where we heat the whole house with it, we often don't bother stacking it. Leave that to those yuppy-pleasing Vermonters. We like our ratty back yards with rusting farm machinery and the laundry hanging to dry on a line, and old fashioned rusting chicken wire with actual chickens. Nothing to do all winter except drink beer and watch movies...
