We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
You know, if you for some reason didn't like some aspect of nature, say, the wind, what you would do is try to acommodate it, because there's gonna be wind like it or not.
You could go the other way, and spend all your time in the wind, and this would make sense if it was aversion therapy and an experiment to be tried, an exploration of a wish and hope.
But what if you're spending all your time in the wind, and it's not aversion therapy at all but an attempt to change --not yourself, but --the wind?
Soon enough, you'd realize that you have gone crazy, but crazy only in the eyes of others who are not, for one reason or another, especially mesmerized by the wind.
Well, you're gonna have reason to hate them --after all, they are clearly agents of the wind, absolutely, whether they know it or not, for starters because it is only against their standard that you are crazy.
And that will be the truth, too, an objective fact inside and of your emotional subjectivity.
So the truth is, you've gone crazy over a lie, and the lie is, you've gone crazy over a lie.
For some reason, I can never open any link to "Minding The Campus". I get the "connection has timed out / the website is taking to long to respond". Doesn't matter what browser I use. Anybody else have that problem with that site?
