Federal paramilitary agencies

We've all known for a while that the DHS has been building a potent paramilitary organization. The justification for that eludes me. Of course, the FBI and ATF are paramilitary too. What am I missing among federal paramilitary agencies?

However, I never imagined that the IRS was doing the same. Gun Control? Not at the IRS!

Is the US constructing the ingredients of a police state at home because of the actions of some wacko Jihadists?

Local police departments also have or are building paramilitary capabilities as well.

I'd say it is more of a consequence of insane immigration policies. If you can't or don't monitor closely who you let into the country, than your stuck trying to police it on the back end.

If this was a country of mostly European stock, with a sprinkling of Asian and Latin American immigrants, we wouldn't have nearly the problems we now have with millions of hispanics, Middle East and Eastern European Muslims on top of the issues we have with our own indigenous black population.

In addition to our black gangs and general black social pathologies and our white home grown violent idiots we've added Russion gangs, Hmong gangs, Mexican gangs, Muslim gangs/terrorists. Got to love diversity.

Diversity = Bolshevism. Understand that it is part of a concerted effort to undermine Republican form of government. Divide and conquer. Keep the prols feuding among themselves and they will not notice the usurpation of the Constitution.

Not at all. The U.S. fedgov is well aware of how badly they have screwed the pooch (economy, rule of law, etc.) and are now in the stages of preparing to war upon anyone who dissents. It is simply a matter of statism -v- freedom. We are moving into the final stages of police statism sold to those who have not been paying attention as needed security measures.

Prepare to repel hostile forces. We won't vote our way out of this.

Armed tax men don't surprise me. Folks tend to be a bit hostile when the tax man comes to collect and the local law can be very disinterested in helping.

Now combining all the various armed feds (eg. NOAA, park service, postal service) with the trend to make everything a matter of federal (not state or local law) law, things could be dicey if we fall asleep at the polls.

I've hear the Dept of Education has a SWAT team in addition to armed law enforcement on the payroll.

No. The US is constructing a police state because that is what the people in government want to have. They wanted it before 9/11.

True democracy is too "messy" for the Democrats to tolerate. It gets in the way of their having things the way they want them. They can't understand why other people don't always see things their way and they get impatient. They keep saying, "You'll thank us later" but I'm not so sure about that...

I'm with John. Drugs, the environment, terrorism, and health are all excuses they use to grab more power -- and as soon as there's another slow news week, they'll make up another phony emergency.

And if the people at the top responsible for the TSA, IRS, and now NSA scandals don't go to prison, it's time to consider other options than trusting the government. Because they've already taken the first two of the Four Boxes away from us, and nobody seems to be in any hurry to give them back.

Now, you wouldn't want to deny Revenuers and other G-men from getting their Tactical Tommy on would you? I mean, they got guns, they can have select fire weapons and they gotta be compensating for something. Probably not what you think, probably compensating for not getting in the FBI.

How about the fact that cops want to play solider, get lots of money shoved their way and of course they need to spend it on shiny new toys. This is one of the reasons every police department "needs" a SWAT team. Add lots of Homeland Security money.
Plus every bureaucracy must grow ie Parkinson's Law.

WWI would've never been fought had not the railroad made large troop movements so fast and easy that mere mobilization moved from an internal matter to an international act of war. It was only the march that kept Napoleon from taking Russia --and at the time, that was only as long ago as WWI itself is to us now.

Here is that film. It's a hour long. I watched it several months ago --i remember, i wished the last interview, with the producer and director, had been cut into the first part rather than the last --it is truly riveting and scary as Hell.
