Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Heather takes the University of California to task: Multiculti U. - The budget-strapped University of California squanders millions on mindless diversity programs.


On reading the article, one might be left with the impression that California higher ed is afflicted with a crisis-sized epidemic of destructive racism and sexism. I would doubt that. From what I have seen and read, the U of C is mainly afflicted with a crisis of poorly-educated and ignorant kids whose four years of Fun 'n Indoctrination is largely thanks to the abused California taxpayer.

The UC Regent who is quoted regarding the dismissal of Liberal bias is Sherry Lansing, former actress and film executive. No bias there. Like Senator Bilbo proclaiming that de jure segregated schools gave "separate but equal" educational opportunities for blacks and whites.

"...the U of ____ (your state here) is mainly afflicted with a crisis of poorly-educated and ignorant kids whose four years of Fun 'n Indoctrination is largely thanks to the abused ____ (your state here) taxpayer.

Pick the lower 30% of final scores and tell me how diverse and sexist the group is. I dare you. Double dog dare you.

I'm going for a massive case of administrative bloat and stupidity and cupidity. Yaknow, searching for the African-Asian LGBTQ person for each and every job opening is really, really hard! And bring in women candidates to "look them over"! Talk about Sexxxxxxist!

If you want a good laugh read through all the "mission statements" of the different UC and Cal State campuses. It is all about (sorry about all the quote marks; think of them as my sarcasm tone) "nurturing" "diversity," "sustainability," and valuing the "uniqueness of the individual." Nothing about education, career, industry or even responsibility, innovation, efficiency or any other trait one might want in an employee, employer, or spouse.

I vote against any politicians who wastes our public funds. I vote against all bond measures and tax increases. Until the government decides to manage our money better I will vote against them having more of our money. So, the problem is the rest of you aren't doing the same thing. If we all vote the bastards out and get new bastards to replace them maybe they will figure this out.
