We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Well, its Education, the media, and the misdirection of their attention vs. reality. Kinda hard to get a response when you're focused upon what that Kardashian bimbo is up to, constant droning\fawning news reports, and the disconnect from their own welfare (which, is everybody's responsibility but their own...).
But, there is a bright-spot - the up and coming generations are beginning to notice that the Emperor has no new clothes, and his entourage FOS (just heard this, Full of s*** - good one, kids!!) . After talking to my daughters friends, I'm getting back my optimism, since they see 'all is not right in the land of Nod'...
I think its cool that college kids want to change the world and make it a better, fairer place. I wish I'd kept that perspective in life to go along with age and real-world experience, instead of this ever-increasing fatalism. as orthodox christians, this is our calling. and there are saints and there are martyrs who do this.
but these kids have energies are focused in the wrong direction by cynical, joyless libtarded academia who have perverted American exceptionalism. I think they hate this country mostly for what it isn't more than they love it for what it could be.
