Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Get Ready for Chicago Rules

Mitt Romney stuck a stick into a hornet's nest by ripping off Obama's mask. John McCain never dared do that, or chose not to.


Get Ready for Chicago Rules - Mr. Romney has exposed the weaknesses in the president's re-election strategy. We can now expect nonstop vilification.


Watch for things to get uglier and more dishonest than you can imagine. It's already begun. The ends justify the means.

No more Mr. Nice Guy? I beg to differ. He was never Mr. Nice Guy on the 2012 campaign trail. Recall Chicago Sleazeball David Axelrod with Dog in a Crate- which backfired into Dog on a Plate. The President's re-election strategy before the first debate was vilification. The President's re-election strategy after the first debate will be vilification, ramped up.

Double down is the way Obama operates.

While ramped up vilification will rally the base, its efficacy among independents and undecideds is another matter entirely.
Before the first debate, the campaign was ugly. It will get uglier.
