Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

College students protest debt on "Trillion Dollar Day"


They should be protesting the federal debt they are facing, instead of the debt they freely took upon themselves in an effort to improve their prospects in life. Apparently higher education does not instill emotional maturity.


Only real life can do that.

Apparently, these young folks didn't learn a thing in grammar school [not even grammar] or secondary school. They didn't scan the courses they wanted to take in college and decide how practical the knowledge they received from these courses would be in earning a living. So now they're complaining that those courses in 'gender studies' ,architecture, world diversity, etc. haven't prepared them for jobs commensurate with their inherent genius. The only thing they can think of to do about their deeply rooted knowledge gaps is to protest against the rest of our more practical society, most of which did "Plan Ahead."

suck it up, Adams. go into the kind of "public interest law" that generates obscene attorney fees or private attorney general-type fees. leach off the private sector if you must, or or do what the rest of us did: expect to be a highly paid wage slave for a few or ten years, work your ass off and pay your damn debts. stop whining.
