We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
They're shooting blanks without blank adapters. Note that they had to manually cycle the actions to eject the empties. There is propellant and a wad in them which can be dangerous. Just ask Jon-Erik Hexum, but from a foot or so just a breeze going by.
Ribbing? Perhaps if that means removing them one by one. If I was the guy whose head could have come off if those were not blanks, it would be a severe azz whipping. That accidental discharge occurred because someone did not observe the fundamentals of safe gun handling, which in this case was to keep your dam* finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.
I thought for a moment that it really was a live round but I'm sure, as noted, it was a blank that went off at a bad time.
"Went off". Something set it off -- trigger or slam-fire. Modern automatic weapons aren't supposed to suffer from slam-fires.
And yes, a slightly different angle would have produced a video that Maggie's would have skipped posting.
