We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The delightful football hero and Congressman J C Watts is filling in for Sean this afternoon. Great to hear him again. This good guy quit politics to return to his Pastor job.
Then there was this, a lot of tap dancing but he left the impression he would vote for Obama. This was disappointing to me and changed my impression of Watts. Perhaps race is more important to him than ideology?
That is disconcerting - even given the fact that McCain was the pubbie running. On the other hand, I'm a registered Independent for a reason. I will vote for whomever is the smaller government guy. I just so happens that I haven't seen a Demoncrat I could vote for. Zell Miller was the last Demoncrat that I would consider voting for and I never had the chance.
It would be interesting to know who he did vote and what he thinks now.
I have never voted for any candidate. I always find it necessary to vote against one of the offerings. While there has not yet been a candidate who was better than the rest, there has always been one who was the worst, and I vote to keep that one out of office.
When I no longer have to choose between the lesser of two evils, I will be able to vote for somebody, but it hasn't been that way, and this coming election isn't looking too promising, either.
I find his voice reminds me uncannily of Barry Farber who was on the late evening AM radio masheen as I was growing up in the hinterburbs of DC. Does anyone else hear this?
