We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Wasted And Useful Lives


Isn't it time for the New York Times to run another 10,000 word essay about how any minute everyone is going to flee the suburbs and flock to the cities, because we all know the quality of life is so low out there in the sticks?

I mean this has got to be staged. Anybody in their right mind would just kick the crap out of hoodie guy instead of embarrassing themselves.

No, there are several photos of different incidents in the British papers.

If the robbee resists the robber, the police respond post haste to arrest them. The British Intelligentsia do not consider property as worth protecting nor should those taking it be prosecuted. But self-defense will not be tolerated.

The real test will be when the rioters invade the upper middle-class neighborhoods. Something tell me, suddenly, protection of property will vault to priority #1. But it will also be a glaring announcement of the Intelligentsia's duplicity and moral bankruptcy

It looks like we're descending into worldwide thuggery, and since Britain usually leads us by ten years or so, what an ugly situation awaits us! It's infuriating and I feel sorry for the Brits who are not allowed to carry, either concealed or openly. At least Texas has a proper attitude toward firearms, and toward protecting one's property from predators. Here, at least, a man's home is his castle and one can protect him/herself with firearms when necessary.

Tried to explain this to some troll on Confederate Yankee last year and he flat didn't believe it. Trolls are by definition ignorant, and I told him that some 30 or so of American states allow legal carrying and use of firearms. Suggested that he might like to research it. Like most liberals, he didn't believe it.

No cities for me, thanks. I lived in Boston for a couple years then Los Angeles. Fun while I was young but I knew I was never going to raise a family in such a place.

I remember waiting for the verdict in the 2nd Rodney King trial with a loaded HK91 wondering if I was going to have to use it.

I give me the creeps that I can't carry when I have to go into NYC.

well then...i'd shoot to kill, then kill their hoodie pals, then their pets and families...and their. without remorse...after all, if you go to prison, you'll likely be among other normal people who got sent there protecting their property and rights. fuck liberalism...sideways with a rusty ak-47. so sick of this bullshit...
