Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Sunday, July 24. 2011Christians are terrorists. What more proof do you need? Some of my slightly provocative Lib friends have been emailing me to make the point that this Norwegian proves that Christians are terrorists, or something like that. "What more proof do you need?" It's best never to take the bait, because it is hopeless. They are clearly delighted that the perpetrator was not a Moslem. It's The Narrative, you know. Before I read the details, I did assume it was a Jihad-type thing. Sounded like it he learned it from them. Trackbacks

I have received something similar. I don't get where people are considering him a Christian, but even if he were, what sort of mind sends such a thing out to friends, relatives, and acquaintances, as if the sender is not the bigoted one?
It is an amazing and frankly chilling thing, that people really cannot see that such things are the functional equivalent of grousing "We lost the war in 1919 because the Jews stabbed us in the back." I only know what I have read, and I admit that is not much, but I have not seen any article where he is claiming he did these acts for Jesus. I would think anyone who is actually happy about this event, for what ever reason, is pretty sick themselves. If the Lib argument had any validity it would only prove Norse nationalists are terrorists, not Christians. Those violent Norweigians !
But they’ve been telling for decades about Scandinavian Socialist Utopias. If all the hype were true, it would never have rained blood in Oslo. So those societies built on control and dependence aren’t special after all. What more proof do I need?
From what excerpts I've read of his "manifesto," it sounds as if he was a nut who took his fear of Islamism to an extreme. If he was "Christian" because he feared the spread of Islamist practices into Europe, then that is about the only he was a Christian. And using Al Quaeda-style tactics to kill Socialists in order to stop the Islamization of Europe? Nope, that's not anywhere in my Bible (or my Tanakh for that matter).
Never let a crisis (or tragedy) go to waste. That's how Libs think.
BTW, you have lib "friends"? How is that possible these days? I used to have some lib "friends" but as a group they are so insane and hostile I chose to part company with them in order to guard my own sanity and as a matter of self-defense. Someone else said it best: Libs are so detached from reality today it's almost as if they are from a different planet.
Know what you mean. Plus they take a turn in picking up a check about as often as Superman picks up a piece of Kryptonite.
The "Christians are evil plotters attempting to install a theocracy" Is one of the looniest bits of agitprop to come out of the Left. IT also is, evidently, one of their more successful bits of agitprop.
It started with the just insane (and comic) slander of working class men in fly over country which claimed that they were out in the hinterlands creating "militia" cheek by jowl. It is instructive to go back to movies and tv series created n the 1990s and see this nonsense used as an standard plot device almost across the board. It is practicality risible if you have actually lived in flyover land. I would suggest that this got through to weaker minds more the we can imagine. It appears, oddly ,to have been a masterstroke--some sort of "propaganda coup". Who would have guessed that something so silly would be so successful? But what is extremely odd is the notion of "Christians as the evil fifth column". First of all, people of Faith make up the vast majority of the nation, but what is really hilarious is that they think all those middle aged housewives out making jello and marshmallow desert trays for the Church raffle are out there plotting evil designs on the nation. Most of the people that believe this garbage grew up around these "Christians" and, in fact, most of their family members where just these sort of "Christian". They cannot seem to comprehend the implications of what they actually are saying. In fact, what we call "Normal American culture". Is the aggregated, day to day "culture" of simple Christians as has been passed down through the generations. It is the Leftist who is the "innovation" and the anomaly. Many (most?) Leftist lives in what can only be described as a described as a collective psychosis. They are wholly detracted from reality and are distanced from even the most basic of capacity for common sense. One of the reasons for this is that they have completely given up their inner lives to the propaganda organs of M2M and those of so-called "popular culture". I am afraid that your friend is one of these, and it is a sign of great weakness of mind and character. Had the same experience today. This Lib friend also said that "the Republican egomaniacs were stopping our President from doing what is fair for our country."
I really am fatigued from trying to reason with folks who are intelligent but lean on emotion and empathy rather than logic. I would rather my empathy be energized with logic. The hyperbolic character assassinations on anyone articulating a counter position is becoming tiresome to the extreme. The narrative is about control and as far as I can tell that is what Libs want. The control decide the Zeitgeist and punish the free thinkers. I hope I am wrong. What's Christianity got to do with it? Nothing, actually. Breivik attacked those who he sees as the enemy-those who promote multiculturalism, diversity, immigration, and political correctness at the expense of his traditional way of life. He attacked the anti-west Left.
Janet can now say, "see, I told you so..." And she'll be as wrong as she's always been. I don't think she's wrong....it's what she's afraid of....that the lefties will be attacked. It's all about the power you know.
To link this fellow that shot people as a Christan is a logic leap akin to saying Nazi Germany was a Christan Nation because their soldiers wore Gott Mit Uns on their belt buckles.
Maggie, when they demand we of the right take ownership of this guy, ask the watermelons (because enviro was where the left migrated to) to take ownership of the Una-bomber.
This Norwegian guy states, quite explicitly, that he was motivated against the policies of the Western Left. I fear the WL will now demand (like they haven't tried before) public obeiscance to their policies or you are under suspicion. I think the only response is to say, "And you're still batshit crazy."
Essential Nazi --the strong vibe --regardless of any detailia seeking to mask same.
Not a Christian. His Facebook page was hacked. "By their fruits you will know them"
What kind of friend wants to believe that baloney? "By their fruits you will know them" Horace,
Apparently the "hacked facebook page" is not correct. Here’s the explanation: http://www.solidprinciples.com/blog/letters-to-solid-principles-on-anders-behring-breiviks-facebook-profile/ I am not a facebook user but it sounds reasonable to me. It is a shame how so many are nearly gleeful to have finally found the "Conservative Christian" mass murderer they've so long prayed for. Sick. especially film-maker Napolitano. No, not the Judge, whom i wish was president.
