Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

"Bad Facts"

We are not going to participate in the Weiner roast (because what regular middle-aged guy hasn't sent pics of his trouser pup tent to young girls he doesn't know on Twitter now and then?), but lawyer Ace has a good related post on what lawyers term Bad Facts.


Dealing creatively with Bad Facts is one thing lawyers get paid the big bucks for. It is always a fun challenge. Life is simpler if we are careful to avoid Bad Facts in our own lives, but sometimes Bad Facts find us, and nobody is perfect.


Never try to be your own lawyer, because you do not know how the game is played.

Gosh, Nathan, if you're talking about the link to blogger Ace of Spades, I think the writing is very clear. Ace has done a thorough job of reciting the various incidences in this tawdry story which delineate the things which Representative Weiner have done which are, as the young folks say, "hinky."

Innocent people call the police and the FBI when character-destroying acts are committed against them. If an offended person chooses to call in a 'private inquiry agency' instead, it's because he wants to have some aspects of the inquiry kept private.

Would that possibly be because the charges are true?

Weiner's Wiener - You really have to wonder how things like this happen.

Oh wait, I know how they happen - it's called Horn Dog.

Listen, this guy pond scum - I don't know why or how he got where he is, but it is pretty clear he isn't as smart as he and his syncophants think he is. So you have a thing for young college age girls - hey, they are all considered adults. It's the high school students that he should be hung out to dry on.

If it were my under age daughter and Weiner showed his weiner to her, jockey shorts or not, I'd be after him like a hound chasing a skunk.

What everybody, including Ace, seems to be missing is that only one has to make a complaint to the FBI's Internet Crime Division and Weiner's wiener would be history. Don't know why that hasn't happened.

I for one am glad, Barrister, that you have decided to walk erect on this issue, and hold your head high. Too many hot dogs have already come down upon Representative Weiner.

In brief, genital readers, I knew I could always count on Maggie's Farm to uphold their standards.

Much as I love Ace, I don't think he's a lawyer. He does have a couple of regular contributors who are lawyers.

He's also a weapons-grade weiner-joke maker.
