Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

QQQ: The war on fun

Happy Meals, smoking, fried food, etc. Maybe they will try banning booze next. President Obama's War on Fun.

Thus the need to socialize medicine because then your body belongs to the collective and you are required to "take good care of it" so that the costs for everybody else are held in check.

As I tell a lot of my old lefty friends when they ask me why I abandoned them, when we were kids we used to hide in the dorms smoking pot and eating junk food, fantasizing about how when "we" took over pot would be legal.

Instead "we" took over and are trying to outlaw junk food.
