We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
How come everybody else understands that business taxes harm consumers (who ultimately pay them) and harm job-creation? Everyone, except American Democrats. There should be no corporate taxes despite the fact that it would put a lot of tax lawyers and accountants out of work.
(BTW, I'll be in Bermuda the rest of the week. Business plus pleasure, ie golf and maybe tennis.)
It harms employees too because it encourages corporations to move out of this high-tax environment. You would think the Democrats would recognize this problem as the Kennedy's, the Hienz-Kerry's and others have moved their wealth offshore for this very reason.
Recently had this discussion with a group of highly educated "mature" women. They complained that lowering these taxes had never been "proven" to help anything. One of these women was a CPA who I had anticipated would at least understand basic bookkeeping principles.
Do you really believe that American Democrats don't understand that high corporate taxes harm business? A better question might be what is their purpose in harming business? What is the endgame?
It is important to understand that today's Democrat party is NOT the party of JFK. It has been taken over and today the Democrat party is the party of Marx or Lenin. To strong a statment you say? Then go back to question #1.
