We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I first enjoyed shooting with my uncle, a Marine, when I was 17. I liked the M-16 when I was in the armed forces, and the .38 and the 9mm.
My son and I shoot cowboy revolvers and rifles. I just love the feel of the Rossi Puma in my hands, the rattle of the action, and the "ping" when I know what I'm doing. I like the pistols too and even the shotgun, but the "Rifleman" style long gun is my personal baby.
I keep them locked at home. I'd have a hard time getting one ready for defense at need. But I could probably do it...
