We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
America don't need no steenkin' noblesse. But, re the elites, Liberals are smarter. I knew that! They are smart and I am dumb. But not too dumb to be able to support my family and my wife's dumb animals in some degree of comfort and pleasure.
Thank goodness for the equality of one dummie, one vote. I have two Ivy degrees but always doubted my brains. Guess I was right about something.
I only have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and a Master's in Optics, along with over 30 years experience in the field so I feel wholly inadequate when addressing my liberal 'betters'.
The fact that I am also a small business owner employing six other inadequate conservatives/moderates and paying business and payroll taxes means that I must also beg forgiveness for being successful despite all the roadblocks those same 'betters' have put in my way.
Re Kanazawa, some "social scientists" at Berkeley also came out with a similar study a few years ago.
All it takes is a couple of days of living in Berkeley to realize how totally dysfunctional the whole place is, which is pretty good empirical evidence the whole "liberals are smarter" thesis is absurd.
The report indicated that these opinions may actually be selected merely to indicate a high-IQ, rather than being the result of a high-IQ. In other words, being a Liberal may be like those fake cell phones men use to carry in Discos (when cell's were very expensive) or Peacock feathers - simply status markers. This would fit with Thomas Sowell's estimate that Liberalism as form of self-regard or even psychotherapy.
