Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Yet another bow from our pussy Pres.

He's not in the showers in jail picking up the soap, so why do this so constantly? Is it a twitch? A twitch of submission, like a beta dog? I think it is pathetic - and it reflects on me as a free and proud American. Please tell me it's only because the Asian leaders are short of stature height-deprived, and not ass-kissing.


I cannot imagine Abe Lincoln or Teddy Roosevelt bowing to a dictator premier of China, a Sheik of Arabie, or an Emperor of Japan.


The only people to whom the O does not bow is to people like me, the honest, hard-working, tax-paying, slightly overweight citizens of the USA. As Bob Grant says, "It's sick out there, and getting sicker."

D ... I'm willing to bet that there weren't very many at Maggies who were fooled by this man. Sometime during Obama's Bowing Weekend, there was a series of pictures of America's presidents and political leaders and their encounters with foreign dignitaries. One sticks in my mind, of Ronald Reagan, with his radiant smile, shaking hands with the Emperor of Japan, standing straight and military. No bow there.

I am tall. I am also hard of hearing from standing too close to the drummer in my band, back in the day. This "Obama" fellow seems to be hard of hearing and leaning in to hear the Chinese dude. I can tell by his angle, he's turning his ear.

Here's the punch line. The Chinese dude spoke softly on purpose knowing this would happen and embarass* this pretend president guy.

I heard that Bush played checkers and this tall Chicagoan plays 3D Star Trek Space Chess, or some such nonsense during the election cycle. Look at the smile on the Chinese dude's face, he just thought "stupid ass, you lose. I play you like a Guandong Strad."

You know, by the blog comment standards, the Barrister should be banned for such language. Double standard I wonder? I mean for what reason was Meta banned, couldn't be language based on the above example... speech that made some here uncomfortable instead? I guess we'll never know.

Obama bows not solely because his nature is obsequious and not solely because he wishes to humiliate America, the country he hates. He knows the score. The USA has borrowed and wasted billions for decades. The country is owned by its creditors, who are on the brink of foreclosing. His bowing is the only ignoble way out, since halting spending isn't an option.

Pres. Bush played poker....very well. But his moves on foreign matters were supposed to be similar to chess moves.....he looked ahead and estimated the effects a long way down the board.
obama seems intent on playing solitaire with one card.
