Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Why isn't this a national headline?

Big Al Gore, noted climate scientist, former VP of the USA, Nobel Laureate, budding Green Billionaire, owner of many large homes and SUVs, eater of meat, world-class carbon-emitter, and Man-Bear-Pig,  clears CO2 of most of the blame.


Hmmm. What next? And blame for what? Life on earth would cease to exist without CO2.

What I'm wondering is why the recent FBI raid in Kinsman, Illinois isn't a national headline.

Please realize that the Goracle still intends to reap riches by driving down other people's standard of living. He plans to do it by restricting methane activity, production of meat and other valuable foods, and he'll keep going after carbon anyway. All in the name of phrenology, alchemy and astrology.

The 40% figure seems suspect. I have read that the earth has not warmed in the last 14 years, while C02 levels are rising.

This math could be valid. Since human activity has advanced the temperature by probably 0.0C, CO2 could easily have accounted for 40% of that (40% of 0.0 = 0.0) and methane and other stuff could be 60% (60% of 0.0 = 0.0). It's the whole 0.0 thing that lets Gore-class math work. As for natural warming, eh, human activity doesn't seem to register in its signature.
If I remember right, not only was Gore's Yale GPA below George Bush's, Gore failed math and economics. Now he wants to run the economy based on his math.

Benson .... I've been following this so-called debate ever since the first computer projections were published, which omitted the Medieval Warming Period entirely and thus fatally skewed the results. That was more than ten years ago. The 40% figure should really be closer to 8 or 9%, according to many climate skeptics, a lot of whom are well-respected climate scientists. Fat chance you'll get to hear about it from the general newspapers, like the formerly respectable New York Times. They're still going with the infamous 'hockey stick' graph, which has been disproved for many years.

As Barnum is reputed to have said ... "there's a sucker born every minute" -- especially if there are research grants in the offing. And when grants come in the door, objectivity flies out the window.

I watched Nov 4, interview of Al by Charlie Rose and he wasn't backin' down an iota nor rethinkin' anything.

If yall get a chance watch it and tell me Al's eyes are human and try to be really convincing, Dog.
