We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The White House trying to dictate who's a news organization. Democrats out to gut a business group. Obama media allies damning Americans as racist, unpatriotic and treasonous. Is this the America Obama promised when he campaigned to end the cynical and divisive politics of the past?
His Hopeful Changeness didn't promise us this kind of change in so many words. But his record and his campaign signaled that we should expect mostly what we've gotten. He's actually been better up to now on the War on Terror than I expected but I also expect him to go mushy on that issue any minute now.
If his words didn't promise us all this, his life surely did.
This is another desperate tap-dance on the part of Democrats, saying "look over here, look over here, these are the really evil folks." And it's proof once again that people accuse you of what they would do themselves. It's the old Alinsky technique. When something you want to establish is in trouble [Obamacare] create a false emergency and demonize a popular organization to draw attention away from the failures of the program you're trying to establish.
It's backfiring on Obama big time. Even the NYTs came out against him for this one.
What bugs me is this president hasn't a scintilla of noblesse oblige. It embarrasses me to death for our country to have a president so petty. At least they know enough to keep The First Harpy out of sight as much as possible.
