We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Wow. That's impressive. They're basically saying, "We can't figure out how to scan paper, but we think we should be in charge of everyone's health care". That's really special.
The interesting thing is that Baucus inadvertently gave away the big secret about how Congress works. He said that they would be back "promptly" on Tuesday morning, ready to go back to hard labor on the health bill. The fact is, Congress ordinarily works on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, leaving Fridays for travel to fun weekends supposedly visiting their constituents, and coming back to Washington on Mondays, to go into work on Tuesdays. That's a three-day workweek, folks. Positively exhausting, innit? We civilians probably couldn't handle it.
