We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

How ignorant are the kids at Berkeley?

Crowder pays them a visit to find out, and it's worse than I though. An embarrassment.


What are these morans (nb - that's the cool blog spelling) doing in any competitive college? Or any college? Are these simple souls our best and brightest?


What happened to the old saying: "You can't shine sh-t"? These dopey kids should have real jobs, where they could learn something useful to do, shine themselves up, and become a credit to themselves. I think colleges are ripping these people off - or their parents.

As a graduate of Dolt Hall (Boalt Hall), the law school at U.C. Berkeley pictured in the background in a number of these shots, I have to say this brings back memories, although this is actually pretty mild for Berkeley.

I still remember one spirited discussion I had with a Berkeley honors student who on the one hand could argue that tobacco was bad and that the government should ban cigarettes, while at the same time arguing that marijuana was good and that government could not infringe on people's fundamental right to use recreational drugs.

The People's Republic is full of folks who think they're brilliant but in actuality there is not much going on upstairs. They think if they parrot the latest leftist propaganda that makes them wise and sophisticated.

I think these young people being interviewed are a petty pathetic bunch, to be students on the campus of one of our outstanding universities. The interviewer, on the other hand, is a young man I've been watching since he began his videoson various subjects several months ago. He's pretty impressive, as are O'Keefe and Giles -- fearless, relatively well-informed, a bearcat for chasing facts. He is maybe going to be one of this generation's fearless reporters.

And boyohboy do we need them.

Judging from some of the recent politicians we have seen, who graduated from Yale or Harvard (or Princeton)I would say those "institutions" produced pretty poor products.

Not one of those young people appeared to be "filthy" nor, in any sense that I know, "hippies." They certainly do appear to be "victims of the public school system", as I sometimes like to put it, though.

Yeah, man. Those poor victims of the public school system. Let's start fining parents for sending their undisciplined cretins to the public schools. Or more to your liking, I'm sure, let's just sue the teachers when Buffy fails history.

It would be interesting to know how many 'smart' kids they edited out of this video. As 'consumers', we are in thrall to the message. That's a subject oft discussed on this and various other blogs - usually about the MSM - but it works anywhere where we don't control the medium.
